A solar energy system to suit you
-
Solar Panels
Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels convert sunlight into free electricity - even on cloudy, overcast days. A solar panel only solution is perfect if you consume the majority of your energy during the day - your solar panels generate green energy as you use it.
-
Solar Panels and Storage
If you consume more energy during the evenings, a solar panel and battery package is a perfect solution. By installing a solar battery system you can store the electricity your solar panels generate during the day for when you need it or even sell it back to the grid!
-
Solar Batteries
Battery systems can be installed at the same time as solar panels or retrofitted to your existing solar PV system. Batteries can also be used on their own to store cheaper energy at night on an Economy 7 tariff for high peak demand times, saving you money without installing solar panels.
How do solar panels work?
The 173,000 terawatts of sunlight continuously reaching the earth can provide an abundant amount of solar energy to power everything we do.
Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels are made up of numerous silicon cells, which create an electrical flow once the sunlight activates the electrons in the panels.
A solar inverter connected to the solar panels converts the energy from DC to AC current to make it useable in your home and then takes this by cable to the electricity consumer unit (where your fuse box and trip switches are).
This electricity is then available for immediate use, if needed, or by installing a solar battery system, you are able to save the generated energy and store it for when you need it, or even sell it back to the grid!
Why choose solar energy?
-
Save up to 80% on energy bills
Generate free low-carbon electricity all year around for free (even on overcast days) and rely less on your electricity supplier. Protect yourself against electricity price rises and use this free energy to help with all your electrical requirements.
-
Maximise your energy independence
By supplementing solar PV panels with a battery you increase its effectiveness by nearly 40% by harnessing all the solar energy created and using it when you need it, such as charging your electric car and with adaptions, even your domestic hot water.
-
See your savings in real time
The free app allows you to keep track of your energy consumption and energy production. We also have a monitoring app which allows us to remotely monitor and maintain your solar system.
-
Take advantage of 0% VAT
Following the government’s decision to offer further support the renewables industry, solar panel installations now benefit from 0% VAT.
-
Get paid for exporting electricity
The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) allows homes and businesses that generate renewable and low carbon electricity, to be paid for energy supplied back to the grid.
-
Reduce your CO2 emissions
Solar electricity is a low-carbon, renewable energy and produces no emissions that add to greenhouse gases causing climate change.
